WATER HARVESTING

Water from the back roof of the house is channelled via the drain pipe into the shed gutter, where it empties into an old water tank.  The level of the water in both tanks rises simultaneously because of connections on the outside.  Water then gravity feeds via a pipe to the bottom of the garden, where a tap means it can be used when needed to fill water barrels in the vegetable area, or direct onto the vegetables by hose connected to the tap.

Water from shed roof runs into one barrel, which when full feeds into the second barrel.

Water from one side of the small greenhouse roof runs into a barrel, which when full feeds into the second barrel.  There is another barrel on the other side of the small greenhouse to take water off that side.

Water from one side of the large greenhouse roof runs into a barrel, which when full feeds into the second barrel.  A hose from the large barrel feeds water when needed into a tank inside the  large greenhouse for convenient watering.   There is another barrel on the other side of the small greenhouse to take water off that side.
